Maclean

Maclean

Montreal artist who has spent all too much time behind the wheel of a truck transporting (what else?) artworks. Now his day job (in a gallery) has more to do with taking care of artworks and much less to do with driving. Having lived in Mile-End for ten years, he knows that he has found his own paradise in the city. Now if only he could get the cars out of his space, he would have paradise on earth.

Mathieu Vick

Mathieu Vick

Cofounder of CFME, Matt works tirelessly to raise awareness of the endless possibilities of living without cars. He informs and inspires us through his blog entries and management of our Facebook group, and keeps us coming to weekly meetings by being so easy on the eye. Matt is currently completing a PhD. in astrophysics at Université de Montréal.

Shelley Miller

Shelley Miller

You could say Shelley is the icing on the cake, which is to say, for those of you who don't know her work, she's adept with the stuff - icing that is. ...which is to say, she's an artist (you can see her stuff at the Darling Foundry). Shelley's graphics skills are behind our posters and fliers. Perhaps more importantly, she's a crucial member of the CFME think tank.

Emilie O'Brien

Emilie O'Brien

Trained in art restoration, Emilie's skillset is far-reaching. Her focus and attention to detail are priceless assets to CFME's think tank, and she does amazing graphics and layout work too! Emilie is also a fantastic human being.

Christian Roy

Christian Roy

Chris is a man of many skills: writing and directing short films, crosswords, badminton and, luckily for us, translation. By undertaking the lion's share of translation for CFME, Chris has allowed Mathieu to daydream about car free spaces. He's an MD and our ambassador in the nation's capital.

Zvi Leve

Zvi Leve

Zvi is the most handsomest urban traffic model expert in the world. His technical and logistical expertise prevented CFME from focusing too much energy on creating a network of horseback trails in the Mile-End. He's a superdad, and the guru of lego castle building.

Lisa Bobrow

Lisa Bobrow

Lisa is a multi-tasking wizard. Working by day as designer and chief producer of her own clothing line, by night she turns her attention to learning SEO and web development for CFME. Somehow she also finds the time to raise her two kids in Mile-End.

CEUM

The Montreal Urban Ecology Centre’s mission is to build and share expertise concerning the most viable and democratic approaches to sustainable urban development across the city and its neighborhoods.

CCME

Le comité des citoyens du Mile-End, established in 1982, has played a vital role in creating and maintaining cleaner and more beautiful streets, preserving heritage sites, improving inter-ethnic relations, organizing festivals, and much more. Since 2008, CCME has focused on the development of the eastern section of Mile-End; green spaces, arts and culture, heritage sites, and public transport are the main focus of the committee's work.

Repensez St-Viateur Rethinking St-Viateur
A research team at McGill University’s School of Architecture and School of Urban Planning is conducting a study of St-Viateur, particularly the stretch between avenue du Parc and rue St-Urbain. The research focuses on how local knowledge can be harnessed to make St-Viateur a more ‘user-friendly’ street.
